However, in the Rural Living Lab case, threeviable market opportunities were identified and assessed, none of which was likely to bepatentable. This suggests thatconventional wisdom may be unnecessarily limiting. We may be missing countlessopportunities for local and regional economic development by adhering to a narrowdefinition of opportunity viability.
